With Fallout 76 on the horizon, I thought it was only fitting to revisit Fallout 4. I’ve also been following a mod project for Fallout 4 but more on that at the end of this article!
#1 – The Old Western
If you like cowboys and high-power handguns then this is the build for you! You can pull off some Red Dead Level gunplay with the right perks.
You become the king of V.A.T.S. with this build, each hit rapidly or completely filling your multiple critical meters to fire off at will, with all ranks of Gun-Fu, your V.A.T.S. hits on the fourth target and beyond will automatically be critical hits.

#2 – The Builder
If you’re the type to collect everything and hoard tonnes of junk then look no further, this is the build for you! This build lets you gather materials and make anything your creative mind can muster. With this build, the world is quite literally what you make it!
With Nuka-World, the Sledgehammer can become one of the most powerful melee weapons in the game, with legendary variants even potentially outclassing Atom’s Judgement. You can also take full advantage of Power Armor and Heavy Weapons.

S.P.E.C.I.A.L Focus: Strength, Endurance & Agility
#4 – The Laser Lover
Alright, this one is a personal favourite. I think laser weapons are really really cool. This was the build I made when I first finished Fallout 4 and I’ve remade it twice over.
The idea here is to drive up your critical damage with energy weapons, you can achieve this by combining all ranks of Tesla Science Magazine with the Boosted Photon Agitators for laser rifles as well as the Better Criticals Perk and the Energy Weapons Bobblehead.
Key Perks: Rifleman, Gun-fu, Science!, Better Criticals, Tesla Science (Magazine Perk)
Suggested Weapons: Prototype UP77 “Limitless Potential”, Righteous Authority, Good Intentions, Tesla Rifle, Experiment 18-A
Suggested Armor: Father’s Lab Coat & Liam’s Glasses
Companions: Curie (Synth) or Paladin Danse
S.P.E.C.I.A.L Focus: Intelligence, Agility & Luck
#5 The Captain
Swab the decks and hoist the main sail, this build is for any pirate enthusiasts with an affinity for Cannons, Hoarding Treasure or sending filthy landlubbers to Davey Jones’ Locker.
Your fearsome pirate nature lets you control others and beckon them to your swashbuckling ways, what’s a Captain without her crew?
Key Perks: Heavy Gunner, Aqua Girl, Black Widow, Intimidation, Live and Love (Magazine Perk)
Suggested Weapons: Broadsider, Harpoon Gun, The Admiral’s Friend
Suggested Armor: Red Frock Coat, The Captain’s Hat
Companions: Preston Garvey, Piper or Old Longfellow
S.P.E.C.I.A.L Focus: Strength, Endurance & Charisma
Bonus Build – The True Slav
If you ever feel the need for Cheeki Breeki shenanigans while exploring the wasteland, this without a doubt will appeal to your sense of humour.
Be sure to keep your supply of vodka flowing and enlist the help of local bears (or Yao guai) to give your enemies a taste of mother Russia!
Key Perks: Commando, Animal Friend, Party Boy, Idiot Savant, Critical Banker, Four Leaf Clover, Ricochet
Suggested Weapons: The Problem Solver, Handmade Rifle, Automatic Combat Rifle
Suggested Armor: Winter Jacket & Jeans, Leather Armor, Ushanka Hat
Companions: John Hancock
S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Focus: Charisma, Agility & Luck
So at the start of the article I mentioned that I was following a mod project, some of you may already be aware but there are actually a very talented group of people working on recreating Fallout: New Vegas using Fallout 4’s Engine. I think it’s a massive task to undergo but I’d play the living hell out of that.
If you’re interested in finding out more about it check out Team F4NV’s work at www.f4nv.com
I hope you found this article helpful and entertaining! Let me know what you think by leaving a comment! A like would also be super appreciated! Thanks for reading!

Aww, thank you! Definitely give it a go, the way Fallout 76 is going, us Pc Players won’t see it for a while, so this should keep you going for a playthrough or two!
Also, I tried checking out your blog but I get an error message every time I click it? Hope it’s just a bug, could you send me a link if it is broken? Cheers

I find myself replaying the games I love over and over and over again. Fallout 4 being one of my favorite games that gets that treatment pretty regularly. That said, I have a horrible habit of replaying my favorite games the exact. same. way. every time. so this post is exactly what I needed to break the cycle!
Far Harbor is my favorite DLC in 4, so I think I’ll have to give The Captain a try in my next playthrough 👍
